This work was in response to the TED Talk "The Garden
Awakening" by Mary Reynolds. On our disconnection
with nature when we stopped growing our own food.
The POV is from my room looking down at the front porch,
including my neighbour's, showcasing the amount of
concrete in relation to nature. I'm also feeling the lack of
community experienced in urban spaces. I portray this
with the neighbour's abundance of lemons in relation to
our slowly growing lemon tree/ abandoned spring onions
& rosemary. Imagine communities in urban spaces
growing & sharing fruit/veg. This idea comes at
a time when produce has become increasingly
expensive. Imagine being able to depend on your
community and yourself for fresh, organic produce
instead of corporations.
